Warehouse Associate

JOB SUMMARY
The warehouse associate performs the necessary duties involved with shipping and receiving. This person is a highly organized individual who is knowledgeable about the company’s products and materials, and how the materials should be stored and even maintained. You will pull stock, prepare orders, handle all incoming shipments, organize the warehouse, operate powered industrial trucks, track and enter shipping and receiving information using the company’s software. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
It is essential for all employees to adhere to Company policies.

A. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, certificate of analysis, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment. Document and follow up as needed.
B. Place incoming materials in inventory area
C. Prepare pallets for shipping
D. Prepare documents, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
E. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes.
F. Confer and correspond with S.A. Piazza & Associates employees to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
G. Build orders for packaging using production schedule
H. Rotate raw material/packaging material stock item
I. Maintain appropriate inventory of materials through periodic cycle counts.
J. Requisition and store shipping and packing materials and supplies to maintain inventory on stock.
K. Deliver or route materials to areas in the warehouse using powered industrial trucks.
L. Seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.
M. Track and enter shipping and receiving information in Adagio, Excel, and Bartender.
N. Setup kits for future packaging needs (includes ensuring proper quantities and item numbers of cartons, discs, ingredients, etc. for each packaging job).
O. Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean manufacturing practices

Education/SKILL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
A. High School diploma or GED preferred
B. 1 to 3 years of current warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment, desirable
C. Required ability to read and write Basic English, basic shop math skills, and basic computer skills.
D. 6 months of recent experience operating powered industrial trucks is desirable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

A. Standing/Walking: Continually & fast paced – Most assignments and work functions are performed while standing.
B. Sitting: Occasionally – Few assignments can be completed while either sitting or standing and only applies to certain work areas and/or work functions.
C. Crouching (bending at knees): Often – Crouching is necessary when lifting materials, counting inventory, looking for material in warehouse
D. Reaching: Continually – All positions require continual handling of small parts and various materials. Reaching is primarily performed between waist and shoulder level. Some overhead reaching is required.
E. Stooping (bend at waist): Often – May bend at waist while setting up work activities, stacking material
F. Kneeling: Often – Kneels to retrieve materials from the floor, prepare shipments
G. Handling: Continually – Handles small components, papers, materials used for shipping
H. Fingering/Feeling/Grasping: Continually – Required for all tasks.
I. Lifting/Carrying: Continuously – All tasks require lifting and carrying boxes of materials/parts up to 30 feet. A typical weight range is 30-50 pounds. Stacks of boxes may weigh as much as 75 pounds.
J. Seeing: have 20/20 vision or 20/30 corrected vision.
K. Push/Pull: Continually. Push/Pull pallets weighing up to 1500lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL HAZARDS
A. Frequently exposed to a warehouse environment with temperatures varying from -10-70 degrees Fahrenheit.
B. Works in a warehouse environment with exposure to Power Industrial Trucks.
C. Adhere to company safety policies and GMP/SQF requirements, wearing the required personal protective equipment.

UNPLANNED ACTIVITIES/ADDITIONAL DUTIES
A. Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed
